All Evil Destroys Itself, says Head of Russian Church
Patriarch Kirill said that all evil is ultimately self-destructive, bringing about its own demise
All evil is unstable, ultimately destroying itself, said Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' in a sermon after the liturgy at the Trinity-Sergius Lavra on Friday.
“From the word of God we know that history will end when evil triumphs over good. The coming of the Antichrist is the total and global domination of evil. But evil is not viable. Where there is evil, there is no life, there is no love. Which means, indeed, ‘all evil destroys itself’,” said Patriarch Kirill.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church emphasized that Orthodox people must preserve faith in their hearts, raise their children in the faith, and show the way to church to those who have not yet found themselves in the faith.
“Relying on faith, people become invincible. Because the greatest defeats in history were not due to the fact that they lost to some external enemy, but because they themselves did not have enough fortitude, loyalty and willingness to fight for their country and for themselves,” said the patriarch.
