American Woman Becomes Orthodox Christian Nun and Moves to Russia - Mother Cornelia Rees (VIDEO, TRANSCRIPT)
What a wonderful, sweet lady!
I love Mother Cornelia! She is quite friendly and is such a sweet lady. I’ll never forget meeting her during my first visits to Russia, back around 2015 or 2016. The following year, in 2017, I brought my whole family to Russia.
She used to live in the American Midwest, and her name was Caroline. Then she and her friend started investigating various religions. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to be, but she didn’t want to be Presbyterian anymore. After years of searching, she took a trip to Platina, and discovered the Orthodox Church. The rest, as they say, is history.
This is a wonderful video interview of Mother Cornelia, complete with a full transcript:
Though I certainly didn’t become a monk, I did move to Russia, and I brought my family with me. I definitely understand Russia’s appeal, and I’m always happy to meet other Americans who became Orthodox Christians and moved to Russia.
Mother Cornelia has a heartwarming story, and I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!
She appears to have found what she searched for and is happy about it.
I love your stories Father Joseph. If I weren't so old, my husband and I would move to Russia. They will become the only Christian country left in the world when this godless society takes over. May God bestow His blessings on Russia always.
