Dissident Mama is a popular Christian podcaster who’s adept at triggering leftists, Yankees, neocons, and globohomos. A co-founder of the Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship, she describes herself as a recovering feminist-socialist-atheist and retired mainstream journalist, now happily living life as a domesticated belle and rabble-rousing rhetorician.
We had a great conversation in this extended interview, discussing apostasy, Russophobia, Orthodox prophecies, the “American Village” being built in Russia near Rostov, the double-headed eagle and symphonia, the war in Ukraine and its eight-year lead up, and much more.

The Orthodox Church definitely imbues Russian society with a passing strength for family values, regardless of the harsh negative materialistic oppressive influences compete with it, there is a definite superiority which will be immediately felt when visiting there for the first time. Father has excellent advice toward the idea of goals toward the single folks who pray to be led to a good spouse. Always in the Church community it will lead to good results faster, but not everyone spends as much time around this community. Either way they will find results through serious prayer. My impression is that it is easier to find Chastity in the rural areas than the urban areas of Russia too much like the west. A more traditional attitude toward gender roles appears to be prevalent in russian, much more so in the USA. Even in the cities of Russia far more women wear dresses than in the cities of the USA. The situation reminds many of how the decade of the 1980's had been in the west. This may not be the ideal, but it is an improvement over the present western cultural situation.
The concepts about governance are acceptable but this is a complex subject. Many of the Italian republics were Christian (San Marino was for some centuries Orthodox) and held good morals, good governance. The concept that monarchy is defacto superior to any other form of government is not absolutely true. At the very least monarchy should be viewed with less prejudice and on a more equal footing. As well, Russia has a tradition of monarchy in a good portion of it, perhaps not all as we do have the "Pskov republic (principality)" during same time period of the Italian and Slavic republics in the mediterranean.
