Family Baptism in Russia's Golden Ring (VIDEO)

On Holy Saturday, after a year of catechism, my dear friends Ilya, Sharon (Barbara), & Dmitry were baptized into the Russian Orthodox Church. Our church doesn’t have a baptistry large enough for adult baptisms, so I performed the baptisms in a nearby village, at the Church of the Lifegiving Trinity.

I’m grateful to Ilya for hiring an excellent videographer, who created the wonderful video above. What a great way to remember one’s baptism!

That night we celebrated the greatest feast of the year — the midnight service for Holy Pascha. Ilya, Barbara, & Dmitry received their first Holy Communion in the Orthodox Church. It was a glorious time for everyone!
