I visited a recently constructed Russian Orthodox Church of large scale near Klirou, Cyprus in 2018 and was immediately overwhelmed by the iconography and the icon painters who were surprisingly young . That the young have a thirst for Christ and want to learn the beauty of handiwork dedicated to God made a huge impression. The west is lost and i for one would be very keen to explore moving to Russia.
Father, at present the west has imposed very severe travel restrictions as far as i am aware the only route in is via Air Serbia Belgrade. I will be back in contact when the situation has clarified. Thanks.james
I like the simple idea of moving to Russia, but would the Russians ever trust us or give us jobs, or would we have to stay in expatriate enclaves? Learning the language is another hurdle. If we go to war, what is to stop the Russians from sending all immigrants to the front, or just beating us to death with clubs? Are there any guarantees of real safety or acceptance?
What stops Russia from sending immigrants to war, is that only citizens can be drafted, non-citizens must volunteer to serve. And Russians (of all nationalities - ethnicities) are civilised people, so they wouldn't beat anyone to death with clubs. Where did you get such ridiculous ideas? If you have skills that an employer wants/needs, and can communicate reasonably well, of course you could get a job, or you can be self-employed, or start a business employing others. Yes, total fluency in Russian is difficult, but it is fairly easy to get up to speed in conversational Russian, especially with words from your sphere of endeavour.

The family.
Thank you Father.
Now that the proposed Russian visa regime is being simplified from mid 2023 i will actively begin planning to visit Russia with my wife.
