Mark Twain wrote a biography of Joan of Arc. It might balance out his earlier works.

It took him 12 years to write it. The book is short and available to read online.

Mark Twain is 100 percent correct and a great writer. Obviously, you have not read the Bible.

I suppose one can say the same about the Science Fiction genre which started with H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and was later popularized in the 1950s and '60s by John Wyndham and Robert Heinlein.

Looking back, I am surprised my Catholic parents allowed me to read Twain. I remember a passage where Huck Finn disparaged following Jesus Christ because he does “not take stock in dead people.” Twain was an antichrist! Thank you for this article.

Always felt a bit weird with even Tom Sawyer Something seemed out of place. Now I know why. Doing some research on Twain, he comes across as blasphemous in some of his statements and not to mention did find out he was also a Mason.

On the other hand, the book Mark Twain claimed he was most proud of, which he wrote for his wife who was a believer and despaired over him, was a biography of Joan of Arc...
