Downside seems that it states:

"Now this article says that every woman independently decides on the issue of motherhood, and artificial termination of pregnancy is carried out at her request and with informed voluntary consent."

Problem with this is that it seems the law fails to recognize that the mother already made the decision when she decided to have sex and expose herself to getting pregnant. And so she should not have the option to murder her child ever. If she doesn't want the child, adopt the child out.

Am I misreading the article? Seems Russia is going the right direction overall, but abortion is one issue that needs to be eliminated. Guarantee that once this issue is resolved, the population demographic will improve drastically. No different to compounding interest, but in aspect of population. 50 to 100 years and the numbers will compound.

Also if women do not have any option but to take responsibility for sleeping around, fidelity will greatly improve in society since women tend to be the gate keepers of sex. They would be less inclined to sleep around knowing the risk is too great, and men will have no choice but to conform to the new standards and seek lifelong marriage.

This is the entire point of feminism, to dismantle the family unit and rid society of any morality that we see infecting the West and many other nations.
